Tom Tardio, currently the Chief Executive Officer for Rogers & Cowan, a position he has held for most of the 23 years he has been with the agency, has developed a strong reputation in the converging fields of technology, entertainment and consumer marketing. Mr. Tardio also serves as the President of Global Entertainment & Sports Marketing for Weber Shandwick Worldwide, and previously played a major role in the development of strategic plans for Columbia Pictures that resulted in the acquisition of new entertainment business ventures and Co-financing arrangements with the Wall Street Community. During his tenure with Columbia, Mr. Tardio served in various capacities in its motion picture, television, corporate finance and operational areas. Additionally, he played an instrumental role in providing senior strategic counsel to brands such as Rdio, Microsoft, Myspace, Avon, Coca-Cola, Kraft, Nabisco, BMW, and Texas Instruments, among many others.
This experience has provided Mr. Tardio insight into the strategic intersection of both innovative technologies and consumer trends. Charles S. Jones, who has spent much of his career as an operating executive for a wide range of large public international companies and small growth-driven private companies, has a reputation for innovation and customer-centric growth strategies. He has a proven and highly successful track record in integrating software companies, identifying key inflection points of differentiation and unleashing the inherent value to the market. Having led multibillion dollar global companies himself, Mr. Jones is acutely aware of the impact an engaged and productive workforce can have on the success of any organization. His strategic focus is on technical innovation and the extension of value throughout the business through the optimization of existing and new technologies.
Mr. Jones is Managing Partner of Bedford Funding and also serves as a Director of PeopleFluent, a Bedford Funding portfolio company; Mr. Jones was previously Chairman and then CEO of Markham, Ontario-based Geac Computer Corporation, a Toronto Stock Exchange listed software company with annual revenues approaching 500 million USD. During Mr. Jones's tenure, he transformed the Geac business with two large public-company acquisitions and built an innovative and market-leading business intelligence software enterprise focused on the financial value chain. On October 1, 2001, the Wall Street Journal named Geac the number one performing global stock. In 2004, Mr. Jones was named on the top 10 list of CEOs in Canada and, in 2005, was recognized on the top 25 list of CEOs in Canada by Canada's National Post newspaper.
Doug Ring began serving as Chairman of Socialtext in early October 2011. With his deep market knowledge, corporate strategy strength and product development experience, he will continue to build the technology vision for Socialtext and across the associated portfolio companies within Bedford Funding.
Mr. Ring brings extensive technology insight and strategic vision to Socialtext’s innovation agenda. With longstanding industry relationships, his support will focus on enabling strategic alliances, partnerships and significant business development opportunities. He will also assist current management in operating and managing against key business priorities.
Mr. Ring leads Research & Development at Peoplefluent as the Chief Technology Officer. He’s responsible for identifying and executing strategic partnerships and acquisitions, and reviews strategic technologies and product plans. Prior to Peoplefluent, Mr. Ring was a Principal at Bedford Funding, providing technical and product guidance on technology investments. He was previously Chief Technology Officer of Geac, where he was responsible for all aspects of the software creation process including strategy, innovation, engineering, and deployment. He was also actively involved in the communication of technology strategy to the press, industry analysts, senior management, partners, and customers. Mr. Ring served as Director of Emerging Technologies at Dun & Bradstreet Software prior to its acquisition by Geac.
Mr. Ring spent several years in Human Resources consulting at a number of leading companies including Holiday Inn Worldwide, Los Angeles Times and Mattel Toys. He started his career at Canada Mortgage and Housing. He has a diploma in Civil Resources Engineering from Seneca College in Toronto and in Information Technology from Algonquin College in Ottawa.
Robert Schilling, currently CEO of Space-Time Insight, brings more than two decades of executive leadership experience from large ERP companies, including SAP, Oracle Corporation and Siebel Systems. Mr. Schilling joined Space-Time Insight from SAP North America, where he was SVP and general manager of the West region and responsible for all utilities industry accounts in North America. Previously, he served as COO for SAP Japan, responsible for the Industry Solutions, Business Operations, Inside Sales, Value Engineering and Premier Customer Network teams. For more than twenty years in roles from sales to senior management, Mr. Schilling has successively surpassed targets and delivered demonstrable success to the divisions, organizations and regions to which he has contributed. His keen awareness of large multinational businesses and what drives success, deep understanding of data management, accessibility and analytics on business outcomes, and powerful business capacity, drive and acumen give him a highly relevant customer perspective and a meaningful product development context for the Socialtext business.
