Introducing the new Socialtext Managed Service Appliance

Today, Socialtext formally announced the new Socialtext Managed Service Appliance. With the addition of this new managed service option, Socialtext continues to offer the industry’s most “flexible options”:http://www.socialtext.com/products/options for customers interested in deploying a wiki to enable online collaboration and knowledge sharing. The first wiki company continues to be first-to-feature with a secure method of delivering software-as-a-service behind the firewall.

The Socialtext Managed Service Appliance dramatically simplifies ongoing management of the wiki environment by off-loading basic administrative tasks to the Socialtext operations team. The managed service approach also ensures the latest feature enhancements are immediately deployed on the appliance as soon as they become available from Socialtext engineering. Socialtext provides the managed service option over the network through a software as a service model, whereby Socialtext staff remotely manage and update the appliance deployed on the customer premise. The approach has already passed rigorous security audits and been approved by F500 enterprise customers.

The Socialtext Managed Service Appliance delivers the same industry-leading, enterprise-class features as the Socialtext appliance – including email integration, weblogs, simple WYSIWYG editing, tagging, RSS feeds, multiple workspaces, mobile access and more. With the appliance platform, customers benefit from a hardened, turnkey hardware and software system purpose-built for reliable and high-performance wiki-based collaboration services.

Whether choosing the Socialtext open-source or commercial software, dedicated appliances, hosting or new managed services – Socialtext is the leading enterprise wiki. “(more)Learn more”:http://www.socialtext.com/products/options
