    Another CPAL license approved

    The recent approval of Socialtext’s Common Public Attribution License (CPAL) for its wiki software by the Open Source Initiative (OSI) is starting to gain momentum with other vendors.

    Open source enterprise applications firm xTuple recently received similar approval from OSI for its CPAL license. (xTuple makes enterprise resource planning and accounting software.) This makes xTuple the second vendor to adopt this new OSI-approved attribution license after Socialtext.

    It’s starting to look like Socialtext CEO Ross Mayfield was right when he said that he expects CPAL “to be quickly adopted by the 40 or so companies using Mozilla + Attribution licenses.” Read more
