It's been a fun first "official" week at Socialtext. Ross Mayfield and I attended the excellent new Defrag conference in Denver, and our CEO 2.0 and funding announcements generated a lot of press and blog coverage. I've been especially pleased by how positive and supportive many of the blog posts have been - there seems to be a lot of good will out there towards Socialtext. I hope that we can continue to earn and deserve that good will.
Now I get to officially introduce Peter Allen, our new VP Engineering. Peter has a great and diverse background, including PayPal, Napster, S3, Visioneer and Datacopy (now both part of Nuance), but what's even more important is that he is a real positive force of energy! Peter has really jumped right in, rolled up his sleeves, and has brought a great enthusiastic can-do attitude to the team.
He also has a sense of humor. The list bit of his bio reads: "Peter graduated from Princeton University with a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He also has a PhD in traffic school from the California DMV."
Welcome Peter!
