Socialtext’s and MTCSC’s partnership will offer a never-before-seen collaboration suite of products to federal and DoD organizations.

September 13, 2010, Palo Alto, California and Stafford, Virginia

Socialtext announced today that it has partnered with MTCSC to resell its social networking applications under the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) schedule, where federal agencies can purchase the products for a discounted price. Socialtext's technology will help federal organizations eliminate information and knowledge silos by providing them with secure social software that makes their business processes more flexible and enhances collaboration between employees.

MTCSC Program Manager, Drew Bouloy, says, “Socialtext collaboration technology is a powerful way to harness the power of social networking across an organization. It’s really exciting that we’ll be able to service our federal and Department of Defense (DoD) customers with the same technology that has helped MTCSC transform itself into an agile engineering force.”

The partnership between MTCSC and Socialtext will enable MTCSC to offer a collaboration suite of products for DoD organizations that have not been available until now.

"MTCSC's exceptional track record in working with federal agencies makes them a perfect partner and reseller for Socialtext," says Eugene Lee, Socialtext's CEO. "More and more, government agencies have turned to our enterprise social software platform to make their people more collaborative, and ultimately serve their constituents more efficiently."

The partnership follows Socialtext's success in the government sector. Socialtext has customers from local, state, federal and foreign government entities, both civilian and defense. Many of these government customers prefer Socialtext's on-premises, SaaS appliance, which brings these social applications behind the firewall to meet their stringent security requirements.

  • The Defense Acquisition University (DAU) uses a Socialtext appliance to provide a collaborative intranet for its employees.
  • The Canadian Food and Inspection Agency, South Australia Dept of the Premier & Cabinet, Kane County Illinois and others have embraced Socialtext as their organizational intranet, making it easy for employees to share information across departments and flexibly modify their business processes.
